Week in Photos

I again apologize for being a bit absent from the blog this week. A fun weekend with my parents (I did no work) and a majorly failed recipe on Tuesday set me behind.

As a blogger trying to share recipes with all of you, failed ones can be very frustrating. I felt discouraged on Tuesday. I had nothing to share with you on Wednesday. And I thought I would have to continue to play catch-up with posts.

But, I had one bad day. That’s it. The next was great. I developed four recipes on Wednesday, without having to rush. It’s like the food blogging gods were there to help pick me up after my day of discouragement.

Reminder to self: there will be good days and there will be bad days, but the good seem so much more significant than the bad. The bad will disappear, you won’t remember them. The good will stick around. Words to live by for blogging and for life.

Enjoy, five little things that made my week.

{This kitty. For being the best little cuddler.}

{This pasta. For being just so delicious. And for making the best leftovers.}

{This doughnut. Given to me by Ben (Greg’s cousin) at the Headhouse Farmer’s Market. It was from here and undeniably delicious.}

{This sugar. I love this picture for some reason. The only good thing to come out of the failed recipe I mentioned above.}

What little things made your week special?

How do you deal with a bad day?

Enjoy your Friday!

A Walk Through Rittenhouse Square

Today I’m showing you another little piece of Philadelphia.

Rittenhouse Square.

The day I was there? Warm and sunny. A little breezy. A Tuesday. People walking, talking, reading, guitar playing, people watching. And me, capturing it.

Here are some of my favorites from the walk.

Wissahickon Walk

Greg lives in a great part of Philly. He can take a three minute walk to a station and get on a train that takes him to Center City in 15 minutes. He has a great market that is only a 10 minute walk away. He lives right near two great towns with local shops and restaurants. And, he lives close to several entrances of Wissahickon Park.

Being in the city is great, but it is so nice to have such a close escape. Here are some photos from a walk we took one seasonably warm day in January.

Enjoy!

Weekend in Photos: Philadelphia

So, today I am going to introduce you to someone.

This is Greg. Everyone say hi Greg!

Greg

Hi Greg!

Just about every other weekend I make a four-and-and-half hour trek across the PA turnpike to visit him. He is one of my bestest friends and my boyfriend!

He is attending graduate school in Philadelphia, so that means that I get to hang out and explore a new (to me) city with free lodging! How cool is that?

Anyway, expect to hear me talk more about Greg and Philadelphia, and now you know him and why I’m there.

Once the weather gets nice, expect to see more Philly posts, with outdoor photos.

So, here’s my weekend in photos — Philly style!
